European and Spanish Explorers Project Due October 11, 2024

All explorers must be approved by Mr. Gumm before any work is done.  The time frame for Spanish or European Explorers is 1450-1570.  You must research three explorers that interest you making sure there is enough information to do your project.  Some explorers have little information so chose wisely.  Christoper Columbus is off limits.  Once you find three explorers, email me their names in order of interest.  

 

 

This project will begin September 23, 2024 and will be due October 11, 2024 by 8:00 am

 

**Here is the sample project for explorers.  

Instructions for folding construction paper

1). Lay the paper landscape style and fold in half left to right.

2). Open the paper and fold the side in to meet the center fold.

3). Fold the right side in to meet the center fold

4). Close the left and right side so you see the front as shown above.

5). Measure two 4 inch lines from top to bottom on both sides

6). Draw a line across the paper using the marks

7). Measure and draw the same lines for the interior flaps, not the middle portion

 

**Directions for the front flaps

Top left: Draw a picture of your explorer by hand only

Middle left: Draw a map of the routes your explorer sailed

Bottom left: Draw a ship from that time period

 

**Top right: Draw a pictures or pictures of what your explorer found in his search

Middle right: Draw a type of living dwellings they lived in during that time period

Bottom right: Create a detailed timeline for your explorer and his accomplishments

 

**Directions for inside flap writing

Paper is cut 4 1/2 inches long and 4 inches in width

You may need more than one paper per flap.

Write in detail, not listing, information showing you have done the research about each picture you drew.

 

**Middle of the interior

This should be a large picture or pictures that depict the time period
